CHURCH LAWTON

Knitivity

Exhibition of Life-Sized Knitted Nativity figures with All Age Activities and refreshments. Open daily 10am - 4pm Finishes 1st November

Knitivity

Full sized sheep are not normally found in a church but at All Saints’, Church Lawton recent sitings  have suggested otherwise.

Currently visible in the organ loft of the church are lots of colourful shapes  which at a distance look like full sized animals.

Closer up it is apparent that they are made of 4 inch  knitted squares and we can reveal that on October 18th the reason for this unusual discovery will be  revealed.

In the last two weeks of October, an inspiring community project will finally be assembled and on view  at All Saints’ Parish Church, Church Lawton.  After nine months of knitting, the congregation and local  community have created an amazing life size tableau of the Nativity Story which will be on display for  all to see.

Even the knitters, have little idea how the knitted squares have been put together.   In addition to this huge colourful tableau visitors to All Saints’ Church will find refreshments baked by  congregation members, and there will be craft activities for all ages.

Come and try the nativity jigsaw  or share in colouring in a nativity mural and meet members of the local community who have  participated in this extraordinary project.  They hope their efforts will bring the Nativity story to life  and that these life size sized characters and animals might fuel out our imaginations before the  Christmas Season starts.  Entrance and Activities are free and the activities are suitable for all ages.

We begin Saturday 18th October and run through half-term to Saturday 1st November 10am - 4pm

All Age activities are available, together with refreshments.
