Children and Families worker
Christ Church Higher Bebington
Christ Church Higher Bebington is a welcoming church with strong community networks. We are seeking a dedicated Children and Families Worker to coordinate outreach activities to children and families in our parish.
Responsibilities
Consider the needs of children and families in our community and identify new ways to meet them, working at the interface between our church and the wider community.
Develop a strategy for engaging with the parents and carers of children in our parish, encouraging them to also become involved in the life of the church and grow in faith.
Coordinate our existing programme of outreach activities and work alongside our Schools’ Team to deliver outreach activities in schools in our parish.
Encourage and grow our community of volunteers to support our children and families’ ministry and manage resourcing of activities.
Requirements
Experience in working with children and families within a church/faith environment.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate with both children and adults in an engaging and inspiring way.
An Occupational Requirement exists for the successful applicant to be a practising Christian in accordance with the Equality Act, 2010.
An enhanced DBS Disclosure will be required for the successful candidate.
Part time role circa 50% of a full time 37.5 hours per week. Exact hours and working pattern to be negotiated taking into account required attendance at certain activities within our existing weekly/monthly timetable and involving some evening/weekend work.
Salary: £26,000 to £30,000 pro rata based on qualifications and experience.
Start date: Early 2026
