Vacancy

Incumbent

Holy Trinity, Gee Cross

The Bishop of Chester, in consultation with The Vicar of Werneth as Patron, is seeking to appoint a full-time incumbent to the parish of Holy Trinity, Gee Cross.

The parish and village of Gee Cross is set on the edge of the Greater Manchester conurbation with quick and easy access to the city centre via road, rail or bus and Manchester Airport just 14 miles away. On the eastern side, Werneth Low Country Park is a popular beauty spot with views across Manchester to the mountains of North Wales.

We are praying for someone who will:

Spiritual Leadership and Faith

  • Be grounded in Scripture and lead a ministry firmly based on God’s Word.

  • Demonstrate Christian values and authentic discipleship - following Jesus’ teaching and modelling their life after Him.

  • Help us to grow in faith and deepen our relationship with God.

  • Inspire us to be a praying church — encouraging personal devotion, shared prayer, and intercession for our community.

  • Foster a culture where prayer underpins all we do.

Pastoral and Relational Qualities

  • Show empathy and understanding, with a heart for pastoral care.

  • Relate well to people of all ages and have a genuine passion for ministry from cradle to grave.

  • Encourage collaborative ministry, enabling and empowering others to use their gifts in everyday life and take ownership of church life.

  • Live out their commitment to fostering a strong and effective safeguarding culture within the parish

Practical and Administrative Leadership

  • Work with us to strengthen our financial position by encouraging regular and generous giving to sustain our ministry.

  • Bring strong administrative and organisational skills, making good use of technology to support effective church management.

In return we offer:

Support and Partnership

  • A supportive and committed congregation, eager to work alongside their vicar in ministry.

  • An experienced, open, and encouraging PCC who will share in leadership and decision-making.

  • Support from an active Deanery Chapter, as well as access to volunteer teams and practical help when needed.

  • A congregation that values clergy wellbeing and self-care, respecting a healthy work–life balance.

A Church Community Ready to Grow

·        An established congregation who are hungry to learn, develop,

and grow in faith.

·        A welcoming church family seeking to nurture relationships

across generations and find a balance between young and old.

·        A shared willingness to cooperate and use our gifts together to

build up God’s kingdom.

Faith and Teaching

·        The freedom to teach creatively and faithfully from Scripture,

not confined solely to the lectionary.

Community

·        A well-established presence within the local community, offering

opportunities for outreach and engagement.

·        Beautiful surroundings that provide space for walking, reflection,

and leisure.

Accommodation is offered in the Vicarage located approximately half a mile from the church, in a residential area on Kensington Street.
