Vacancy

Incumbent
St Mary's Lymm
We are seeking a full-time incumbent for this thriving parish of central tradition. Lymm is a charming village celebrated for its rich heritage and beautiful surroundings. There are strong schools and community links. An excellent rectory is provided.
We are looking for a rector who will:
Be warm and outgoing — someone who naturally greets people with a smile, engages easily in conversation, and is down-to-earth and approachable.
Inspire and lead in worship – valuing the richness of Anglican liturgy, while being open to fresh expressions that help people, especially younger families and children, to encounter God.
Nurture our discipleship – encouraging us in prayer, study of scripture, and everyday faith, so that together we may deepen our relationship with Christ.
Be a visible presence in Lymm – engaging with schools, community events, and village life, helping us share the love of Christ beyond our walls.
Embrace music and creativity – supporting and developing our choirs and musicians as an integral part of our worship and outreach.
Strengthen our fellowship and care – working with our lay leaders, readers, and pastoral team to ensure all who come to St Mary’s feel welcomed, valued, and supported, fostering a strong safeguarding culture in the parish.
Bring vision, realism and courage. Help us face the realities of parish life — finances, resources, and the care of our historic buildings — with honesty and imagination.
You will find us to be a supportive, creative and outward-looking congregation. Could God be calling you to join us?
