Breathe with the Seasons: Holy Week
Journey with Jesus. An Encounter Day with Veronica Hydon.

Time seems to pass faster each year, sweeping us along without a moments rest. These retreat days invite you to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with God’s story woven through the seasons.
As we approach the final seven days of Christ’s earthly life, as recounted in the Gospels, this Encounter Day offers a fresh invitation to inhabit these sacred and perhaps over-familiar stories with renewed attention and openness. Throughout the day, we will explore a variety of practices and reflections that may help us, day by day in the coming week, to engage more authentically with our personal relationship with God and to reflect on our encounters with others. In the safe and prayerful space of Foxhill, we will gently acknowledge before God both the joyful and the challenging experiences that have shaped our journeys so far.
Together, as spiritual companions walking the Way of the Cross, we will hold one another in prayer - always keeping our focus on the light and hope of Easter Day.
The Reverend Canon Veronica served in parish ministry for over 30 years across three dioceses, including urban, rural, and multicultural settings.
She was among the first women ordained as priests in the Church of England at St. Paul’s Cathedral in 1994. Rooted in a liberal catholic tradition, Veronica has long embraced quiet days and creative retreats, and has been part of the Cursillo movement since 1998. Now retired, she lives in Macclesfield Deanery. In retirement, she enjoys family life and has rediscovered her artistic side - attending icon painting courses at Foxhill and on the island of Lesvos.
Arrivals and refreshments from 9.30am

Encounter Days - Connecting more deeply with God
How do you most readily experience a sense of God’s presence?
Some people love silence and long for space to simply be.
Others find silence difficult, almost physically painful.
In our Encounter Days there will always be lots of space for quiet for those who value the silence, but we also recognise that not everyone processes internally. We want to encourage additional ways of seeking a sense of God’s presence which might include discussion, prayer, or walking in a group or with another, making or listening to music, making or creating something, reflection using writing or reading.
