Resources for Parishes to promote the Big Summer Safeguarding Survery

VIDEO LAUNCH

A video message from Bishop Mark and Jane Pleace, Diocesan Secretary and Chief Executive Officer has been produced which explains why it’s so important that we hear from as many people as possible.

In the video Bishop Mark says: “Your voice matters and it's important that we learn how we can make the church as safe as it can possibly be where everybody whoever they are can be happy and healthy and thrive."

Jane Pleace explains: “This survey is not just for clergy. It's for everyone who has an association with the church. You might be a member of the church. You might be a volunteer gardener. You might be a member of a youth group. Whatever your involvement with the church is, we would love to hear from you."

This can be shared on church social media channels and on screens in churches as part of worship and meetings over the summer. This will include a QR code and direct people to go to the front page of the new diocesan website: https://www.chesterdiocese.org – where there is an identifiable button.

COUNTDOWN TO CLOSING DATE VIDEOS

Later this summer there will be more videos, including 10 countdown messages featuring people who have filled in the survey encouraging others to have their say in the ten days before the survey closes on 10 September 2025 June.

Finally, there is a downloadable poster for churches to print and display which includes the QR code and website address.

The survey is open until 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 3rd, and the responses will go directly—and confidentially—to the independent auditors at the INEQE Safeguarding Group.
