Vacancy

Part-time Incumbent
Willaston
Christ Church, Willaston
We are seeking a part-time incumbent for this semi-rural benefice of central church tradition near the cathedral city of Chester. There are strong links with the church school, and committed and supportive lay leadership. An excellent modern house is provided. Having recently completed a beautiful refurbishment of our listed church building including a refreshment area, flexible seating and a meeting room, we are at an exciting point in the life of the church with many opportunities for growth and development.
We are looking for an incumbent to help us reach our goal of being central to the community in many different ways and, importantly, welcome to everyone. In particular, we are seeking someone:
To lead us in growing our mission outreach to those who do not know the love of Christ
To support the congregation to develop our faith and to live it out every day
To be comfortable with the range of spiritualities and traditions expressed in our two services and across our worshipping life. Also to have the strength of character to initiate change where it may be needed with grace and understanding
To be committed to working in a team
To be a familiar presence in the community, actively engaged in pastoral care and community matters.
To build on our links with the church primary school
To have a mature faith and be faithful in prayer
To be open, honest, approachable and have a sense of humour
To promote a good safeguarding culture in the parish
The post could be up to Sundays plus 3 days of ministry, carrying a 40% stipend, but as is explained in the parish profile, we could consider candidates offering to serve in a smaller part-time capacity, and also candidates offering self-supporting ministry. Candidates are asked to set out in their applications how they would see the size of post they could offer working in the context of the wider ministry of the parish.
