Parish Online Returns

When someone trusts you enough to tell you what's happening at home, will your response open a door to safety—or unintentionally close it?

“Ministry Toolbox” is a series of hour-long, bite-sized, stand-alone sessions delivered for clergy via Zoom on weekday lunchtimes. Each session takes a practical approach to a specific area of leading in ministry and mission. These are especially suited to those new to or looking towards incumbency, but any clergy are welcome to attend any session.

Following on from her session on parish administration, Jane Higginbottom will share her practical experience of completing the three main parish returns through the online portal: Statistics for Mission, Parish Finance and the Energy Footprint Tool.

Alongside the Diocese team, Jane will explore why parishes are asked to provide this information, what data is required, and practical ways to make completing the returns easier and more manageable, as well as space to ask questions.

The session is designed to be practical, friendly and encouraging, with simple tips and ideas to help you gather and keep track of information throughout the year, making the returns much easier to complete when the deadline comes around.

Jane is Head of Operations at St Chad’s Church, Romiley, and has more than 10 years’ experience working in church operations.
