Christ the King - Vision Day, Birkenhead

Christ the King - Vision Day, Birkenhead

Serve Christ – Show Love – Share Faith: Discerning Our Shape, Shaping Our Future

Recently, 27 members from Christ the King, Birkenhead gathered at Wirral Waters for a vision day led by Rebecca Holland from the Strategy Team. The day began with a focus on God, referencing Proverbs 16:3: “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.” Revd Paul Bentley reminded attendees that throughout the Bible, God often works through ordinary people who are simply willing to present their plans to Him and say, ‘Lord, lead us.’

The day aimed to review and reflect on the insights gained from engaging with the Jesus Shape People Innovation project and the emphasis on Benedictine principles that connect the church to Birkenhead Priory. Thoughtful consideration was given to selecting the best over the good to prioritize possibilities into first, next, and later.

This gathering was not about individual desires but focused on what God wants to accomplish through them — as a church, a community, and followers of Jesus. Feedback from the day highlighted the joy of participation, the ability to share ideas and thoughts, the structure and atmosphere of the event, and the opportunities created for those who had not previously been able to express their views.
