Salt and Light Renewed

34 people from across the whole life of St Michael’s and All Angels, Macclesfield joined together for a full day to review the church’s strategic priorities. Facilitated by Jon Pocock and Rebecca Holland the church community engaged in discussion, listened to each other and were creative together. There were opportunities to celebrate and be thankful for what God is doing at St Michael’s, videos from Bishop Sam to support a discussion on town wide opportunities, and a final session to discern the next priorities for the future.

"It was such a blessing to be supported by the Diocesan Strategy Team in the planning and (especially) delivery of the Day. Through creative and facilitated conversations, many recent developments were celebrated, and areas of church life to focus on next identified. The challenge now is to carry momentum from the day to the whole church community, and from the present into the long-term."

"Our previous Vision Day was just before the pandemic! It was good to look back at the purpose statement and objectives we came up with then, and think about how far we’d come (and realise what we hadn’t done). There was a real buzz about the day, and it was helpful to have Bishop Sam’s reflections on how, in a large town centre church, some things may need to be done differently."
