Latchford, Christ Church and St James

Christ Church and St James Latchford

We are seeking a full-time incumbent for this united benefice of two urban parishes in Warrington. This is a post with huge missional potential and rich opportunities to serve communities with significant social and economic needs. There is committed, active lay leadership in both parishes, and there are strong links to the two local church schools (one secondary, one primary). The tradition is central to modern catholic.

We are seeking a priest who will bring:

  • A clear sense of direction, an understanding of the realities facing the church today, and an enthusiasm to work with us to build our congregations, to strengthen our community links and make the most of our positive relationships with local schools

  • A strong personal commitment to safeguarding, with the confidence and integrity to lead a positive safeguarding culture across the benefice

  • Visibility in the local community, making contact with and ministering to people wherever they meet together.

  • Churchmanship which respects and values the theology and sacramental worship and traditions that shape the identity of both parishes.

  • Communication skills to engage positively with people of all ages and who will help us build and expand our mission to our community, particularly to families and young people.

  • Commitment to encourage the congregations to live out their Christian faith in everyday life.
