St Chad Farndon and St Mary Coddington
We are seeking a part-time incumbent for this rural benefice of central church tradition near the cathedral city of Chester. The post is for Sunday duties plus 2½ days per week in return for a 25% stipend. There are strong links with local schools, and committed and supportive lay leadership. An excellent parsonage is provided in Farndon.
We need a leader who will:
Lead worship at St Chad's and St Mary's and encourage and develop lay involvement and our engagement and mission in the community.
Encourage the congregations to live out their Christian faith in daily life
Drive effective ministry in the local community including, most importantly, the village nursery and the two primary schools in the benefice, one of which is a CofE school. The PCCs consider the ministry to children and their families as being a major priority.
Develop regular events to build fellowship with the many young families living in these rapidly growing villages.
Develop a variety of worship styles and create services that connect across ages and backgrounds including those new to church life.
Preach and teach in ways that are engaging, relevant and accessible
To continue and expand the strong safeguarding culture in the parishes.
