National Church broadcasts Advent service from our Diocese
The Second Sunday of Advent service was broacast from Halecroft Grange Care Home, led by Alma Hepworth and Mother Clair Jaquiss.
During the pandemic, Alma and two fellow residents at the care home began meeting for prayer and to watch the Church of England’s online national service. Since then, their small gathering has grown into a weekly group of about thirty people.
This year, Alma wrote to the Church of England to share how their community had developed. It was this letter that prompted the Church of England to choose the care home as the location for the Advent service.
Mother Clair Jaquiss, vicar of All Saints Hale Barns with Ringway, led the service alongside Alma, with several residents also taking part by delivering Bible readings.
