Praying for Deanery Revitalisation

Alongside the consultation on proposals to revitalise the deanery system, running from 21 August to 28 September, we are inviting churches and individuals across the Diocese of Chester to join together in prayer.

Processes of discernment are never simply administrative. As Bishop Mark, the Senior Leadership Team, Rural Deans and Lay Chairs have worked together to shape these proposals, they have done so wanting the whole Diocese to hold this work before God. We would love as many people as possible to join us in that, whatever your view of the proposals and wherever you are in your thinking.

We're praying for wisdom for those weighing the proposals, for unity across our deaneries and parishes, and for the Holy Spirit's guidance as we continue to discern how best to grow disciples and see mission flourish locally, as Together in Christ, Sharing Hope.

To make it as easy as possible to join, a short prayer gathering will run each week at a different day and time between now and the close of the consultation:
