The Diocese of Chester is seeking an exceptional leader to take on one of its most senior and strategically significant roles, with applications now open for a new Diocesan Secretary.
Based at Church House, Daresbury, Warrington, the full-time position offers a salary of £90,000 to £92,700 and provides a unique opportunity to help shape the future life and mission of the Diocese.
The Diocesan Secretary serves as a senior member of the Bishop of Chester's core staff team, the chief officer of the charitable business that supports the Diocese's work, and the most senior lay officer within the Diocese of Chester.
The Diocese is looking for a candidate with strong leadership experience, the ability to manage change effectively, and the personal qualities needed to lead with wisdom, humility and compassion. The successful applicant will combine strategic vision with a commitment to supporting and enabling colleagues, grounded in a deep Christian faith.
The role calls for an inspirational and experienced leader who can demonstrate both technical expertise and excellent relationship-building skills, alongside a proven track record in senior leadership positions.
The Diocese describes the post as both complex and important, requiring courage, patience, kindness, determination and a reflective approach to leadership.
