The Revd Canon Simon Chesters
There has been an outpouring of shock and grief following the death of Simon Chesters, Director of Ministry and Bishops’ Advisor for Vocations who died on Monday 20 July.
We have been asked to share the arrangements for Simon’s funeral which will take place on Friday 21 August. There will be a private committal service in the morning followed by a service of thanksgiving at 1pm at St Mark’s Saltney. The family have requested no clerical dress. It is hoped that the service will be live streamed for all those unable to attend and a link will be provided in due course.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Simon’s family and his church family at St Mark’s at this time.

Loving God,
As we give thanks for Simon, for his life, ministry, and friendship, so we pray for all who grieve - for those closest to him, for those with whom he served and those whom he counted it privilege to serve - rest with your gentle peace and kindly presence.
This we pray in the name of Jesus Christ, his Lord and ours,
